A message shows up in our company chat that reads “Concert Giveaway Alert.” No contest, no points to earn, no quiz to pass. Just a chance to see something big, on us.

Over the past year that has meant tickets to Maroon 5, BLACKPINK, Shrek the Musical, Secondhand Serenade, Aurora Music Fest with SB19 headlining, and BINI. Employees jump in, say why they actually love the artist, and somebody who means it walks away with the ticket.

That last part matters more than the giveaway itself. We make sure the tickets go to real fans, not just whoever clicks first. A free ticket to someone who has waited years to see an artist live is a genuinely different thing than a free ticket to someone who just wanted the freebie.

    Maroon 5

When Maroon 5 played Manila, we gave away floor tickets to employees who could not otherwise justify the price of admission for a concert they had wanted to see for years. I will admit I could not name four Maroon 5 songs under pressure, which is exactly why I do not decide who wins these.

    BLACKPINK

BLACKPINK at the Philippine Arena is one of the hardest tickets in the country to get, sold out well before most people finish refreshing the page. A few of our employees did not have to refresh anything.

    Shrek the Musical

Not every giveaway is a stadium show. Some of our people are theater kids first and concertgoers second, and Shrek the Musical was for them.

    Secondhand Serenade

Secondhand Serenade is the kind of act you either grew up on or have never heard of, and the employees who won these tickets were firmly in the first camp.

Aurora Music Fest, headlined by SB19

Aurora Music Fest drew a full day of acts, with SB19 closing it out as the headliner. We sent employees who had been trying to catch this specific lineup for months.

    BINI

BINI’s fanbase does not do anything quietly, and neither did the employees who won tickets to see them. The message we got back afterward was some version of “I am never washing this shirt again,” which I choose to take as a compliment to the giveaway program and not a hygiene concern.

It is not really about the ticket

Employee engagement does not only live inside work hours. Sometimes it is a training program or a customer success manager catching a problem early. Sometimes it is an employee club somebody started themselves, or one of the five company events we run every year. And sometimes it is a text that says you just won tickets to a show you have wanted to see since you were a teenager.

None of these giveaways show up on an invoice. They show up years later, in the story somebody still tells about the night they finally saw their favorite artist live.

    Frequently asked questions

How does Full Scale decide who wins a concert giveaway?

There is no point system or quiz. When an alert goes out, employees who want in say why they are a fan, and the ticket goes to someone who genuinely wants to be there, not just whoever answers first.

What concerts and shows has Full Scale given away tickets to?

Maroon 5, BLACKPINK, Shrek the Musical, Secondhand Serenade, Aurora Music Fest headlined by SB19, and BINI, so far.

Do employees have to do anything to enter?

No. There is no cost, no task, and no requirement beyond genuinely wanting to go. It is a surprise, not a competition employees have to train for.

Why does Full Scale spend money on concert tickets instead of a bigger bonus?

A bonus gets spent and forgotten. A ticket to a show somebody has wanted to see for years turns into a story they tell for a long time after, which is worth more to how people feel about the place they work than the dollar amount suggests.

We love handing people these moments

Watching someone open a message that says they just won tickets to a show they have wanted to see their whole life is one of the better parts of running this company. The joy they get back is priceless compared to what it costs us. It might be the world’s best ROI for spreading happiness. We love creating lifetime memories for our team.

We have been building engineering teams in the Philippines since 2018, and giving people memories like these is part of why so many of them are still here. If you want to see what the model looks like end to end, schedule a call and we will walk through it.
