Patricia is a UX Designer on Full Scale's Philippines team, four years in, with a Computer Science degree and a design background that includes leading a 14-person design team. In her own words: the project that changed everything when her collaborators left mid-build, and what sets her apart.
"Design isn't just about pushing pixels on the screen and making things look good. I discovered it was about solving real human problems."
— Patricia, UX Designer, Full Scale
Patricia graduated with a Computer Science degree from the University of the Philippines Cebu in 2022. She started as a frontend developer, not a designer, and carried that coding background into every design role since.
Her first internship: building components in React and Gatsby, then moving into a technical project manager role overseeing two feature modules.
Started as a frontend developer and the sole designer on a time-tracking app, then grew into leading a 14-person design team: running sprints, standups, and a 40+ component design system.
Now designs (and sometimes still codes) client products end to end, from research and wireframes through to developer handoff.
"My key collaborators, the lead developer and marketing head, both left the company, leaving me completely on my own. It would have been easy to give up. But that's not who I am. Communication became my lifeline."
— Patricia, on finishing a full marketplace redesign solo
Patricia received feedback that she was "a rock star with UI, who constantly delivers excellent work" — but her own measure is whether the design actually holds up once it ships to real users, at real scale.
As the sole designer, her work on this internal platform now serves over 100 in-house developers and QA testers, plus more than 500 external users across 30 BPO clients.
Built and maintained as design team lead at her previous company, documented and curated for 14+ designers to use consistently.
Audited a peer-to-peer marketplace app, replaced its inconsistent components with a custom color system and design tokens, and redesigned the entire transaction flow for desktop and mobile.
Designed a persistent AI chatbot assistant and AI-powered search with map integration for the same marketplace product.
"What sets me apart is my ability to do both designing and coding. I'm able to make smarter design decisions when I'm not just thinking about how it looks, but also about how easy or feasible a design is."

"Growth doesn't come from perfection. It's about staying curious, challenging yourself, taking ownership of your work, and being open to continuous learning."
