Jeremy: from intern to full-time, the Fast Track way

Jeremy is a Full Stack Developer on Full Scale's Philippines team, two years in, who joined as a student intern and converted to full-time through Full Scale's Fast Track program. In his own words: why he chose to come into the office, the skill that actually drives success, and his advice to anyone joining the team.

    Background

From a research award to Full Scale's Fast Track

Jeremy graduated with a Computer Science degree from Cebu Institute of Technology in 2024. He joined Full Scale as a student intern the year before, and "Fast Track" — Full Scale's own program for converting strong interns to full-time roles — turned that internship into a job offer after graduation.

Cebu Institute of Technology, coursework (2022–2024)

Led two university teams as a student developer, then helped build an Automatic Essay Checker using Google Vision OCR and a trained Mistral 7B model — the paper won best research at a research congress.

Full Scale, Developer Intern (Jun–Aug 2023)

Independently built a full Contact Management application in C#, .NET, and React, containerized with Docker, while still a student.

Full Scale, Full Stack Developer (Jun 2024–present)

Converted to full-time through Full Scale's Fast Track program, now rebuilding Full Scale's own internal event registration system.

    What he's built

From a research paper to production code

Jeremy's range runs from applied ML research to solo full builds to fixing Full Scale's own internal tools — the kind of breadth that comes from being handed real ownership early.

An Automatic Essay Checker that won best research

Built the OCR pipeline with Google Vision and helped train and test a Mistral 7B model for the NLP side, as part of a 3-person team.

    A Contact Management app, solo

Built independently during his internship: full CRUD, authentication, and a Dockerized deployment, from a standing start.

Full Scale's own event registration system

Refactored the existing codebase and built a new raffle system, guest registration, and import/export functionality, aimed at removing Full Scale's dependency on third-party event tools.

"Our most valuable skill here is communication. Whenever I needed guidance, I didn't hesitate to reach out to my teammates."

    — Jeremy, on what actually drives success

    Outside of work
"I'm proud to say I won our first Valorant esports tournament. When I'm not gaming, you might find me at the gym... a slice of cheesecake paired with coffee keeps me going."

    — Jeremy, on life outside the codebase

"Your technical skills will get you here, but your communication skills will take you further."

    — Jeremy, Full Stack Developer, Full Scale

Jeremy's growth isn't an accident. It's how we build every team.

Full Scale develops engineers from intern through full-time, staffing them on your team as they grow, so you get access to talent other companies never get the chance to meet.
